Snow Day In Nashvegas

Come join us for a cup o' joe sometime on our tantalizing back porch!

Obviously with this amount of snowfall, Nashville has nearly shut itself down. It's a beautiful sight and we've missed it.

The weight of the snow will surely crush the spirits of all those Nashvillians who have so longed to make it to Orpyland today.

Meanwhile, we're sipping coffees in our warm, lovely little house.

Putting pieces together

So now the kitchen is 99% complete. We did some shopping this weekend to tie in the dining room and now we can feed 8 people at once - everyone sitting together!

Thanks to everyone who helped with the project (Mom, the faucet is from you!)

Bill and Pam, how 'bout them cabinets?!

Please all come visit soon...not all at once. (While we can now feed many people, we still only
have one
bathroom...the next project perhaps??)

Almost Finished (Whew!)

So this was a couple of weeks ago. No dishwasher in yet and the bar (in the foreground) has yet to be attached. Still only temporary lights no countertops.

The cabinets look great, but it was hard to see the forest for the trees - if you smell what I'm stepping in.
Now here you'll see a new range. It's wicked sweet! However, you will notice that there are still no countertops. This means no sink, no plumbing, no dishwashing, no cooking. But it looks sweet!

Do you see what I see? That's right - Countertops! Not only counters, but a sink, fully plumbed. Also, lights that look like real lights and not just those temporary ones.
If you look really close here, you can see the tile back splash that Erin and I are working on. Only need to grout it in and clean it up. It's all pretty exciting!
Look even closer and you'll see that the casing is in and the bar is lit and we're all really happy down here, I can tell you.
Hang in there for more pictures and, at some point, an invitation to dinner!

life of the party?

Because first thing in the morning, the traffic isn't as heavy!
